    Frequently Asked Questions

What scenarios does the multi-scenario planner model?
Four scenarios run side-by-side: (1) Baseline — your current state, (2) Tariff event — a configurable cost shock layered onto rerouted supply, (3) Supplier disruption — extended lead time from a single-source or capacity issue, (4) Demand spike — a 30–60% volume surge in a short window. Each scenario adjusts demand, lead time, and cost lifts against your baseline. You can edit any multiplier and uncheck any scenario to remove it from the comparison.
How is the recommended reorder point derived?
The recommended reorder point is the highest reorder point across the selected scenarios (worst-case planning). For each scenario the calculator projects monthly adjusted demand over the scenario's adjusted lead time, adds a 30% safety-stock buffer, and rounds to whole units.
    How is margin impact calculated?
Margin impact decomposes into three pieces: the tariff-driven cost lift you set, additional carrying cost on the longer-lead-time buffer (4% of gross profit per +10% lead time), and lost-volume cost when the scenario's demand multiplier is below 1.0. Dollar impact = your baseline monthly gross profit × that percentage.
Can I edit the multipliers on each scenario?
Yes — the default demand and lead-time multipliers are starting points you can edit inline. The tariff lift is its own input. Unchecking a scenario removes it from the comparison and from the recommended reorder point.
Is any of my input data sent anywhere?
No. The calculator runs entirely in your browser — nothing about your numbers, product, or scenarios is sent to our servers. The optional chat widget sends only the text you type to the AI endpoint for follow-up questions.
